Eintracht Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller suggested Omar Marmoush may stay despite Manchester City closing in on striking a deal for the Egypt star.

City have been struggling in recent months as they sit sixth in the Premier League standings with 10 wins in the first 20 matches. As such, the eight-time English league champions have been looking to make January signings with Frankfurt's Marmoush discussed as a possible move.

Sky Sports Germany has now revealed that negotiations took place between City's director of football Txiki Begiristain and Frankfurt regarding the sale of Marmoush this January. The Premier League giants believe a deal can be reached for a fee of €70 million (£59m/$71m) while the German side are holding out for €80m (£67m/$82m).
WHAT TOPMOLLER SAID
Speaking to the media, Eintracht Frankfurt boss Topmoller claimed: "It’s not out of the question that he [Marmoush] stays here."
